Technology can be a wonderful thing. In the building trade, there are new materials being developed all the time that save energy, help to keep our planet green, and save you on maintenance. We keep up with the latest trends in order to be able to offer you alternatives that may work well for your specific home and the needs of your family.
Some of the materials we love to work with:
Hardiplank - This cement fiber siding looks like wood, wears like concrete, has fireproof qualities, and holds paint beautifully and much longer than wood. Termites hate it. It doesn't rot. It is quite beautiful as well.
Ironwood decking (Ipe) - This plantation grown wood is equisite. It is also extremely hard, impervious to rot, and wears for many more years than traditional decking materials.
Evergrain decking - This is one of the 'new generation' of composite deck materials. This one really looks like wood. It wears beautifully.
Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) - These panels truly make your home more energy efficient. They work very well hand in hand with solar power. We particularly like these in roof applications. If you plan to live in your home awhile, you will easily recoup your investment.
Solar Energy - Solar energy is wonderful. Many of our clients have large homes (including pools) with small or no electric bills! This is an investment worth looking into, especially if you plan to stay in your home a number of years.
Radiant Floors - If you have ever walked barefoot on a hardwood or tile floor in a home heated with radiant underfloor heat in the winter, you don't need to be sold on this amenity. There is nothing quite like it for sheer comfort and energy efficiency.
